A Hundred Thousand Welcomes

Welcome

The main object of the Society is to bring Scotsmen and Scotswomen together to cultivate and foster all that is best and deepest in Scottish history and tradition; to encourage the study of Scottish art, literature and music; to maintain Scottish customs and the practice of Scottish games and pastimes. The Council strives each year to combine the skirl of the pipes, Highland and country dancing, reading of poems, especially those of the Bard, Robert Burns, and singing of traditional Scottish songs, whilst downing a wee dram, to encourage interest amongst members.

Membership is open to those of Scottish descent or interested in things Scottish and, after consideration by Council, all are made welcome in the Society. To join, email Chief Andrew Bosch on Andrew.bosch@uct.ac.za, who will send you an application form.
